Lake UI and Icon Sets

Summary
The style of the UI is simple and timeless. We considered creating a 80’s style UI, as the game is set in the 80s. However, just like with the game as a whole, we felt that any unnecessary element created noise that we didn’t want. Our goal for the game was to create a very relaxing experience; no running, no punishing decisions, no stress. And so the UI reflects this as well.

Startscreen explorations. It was fun to find the perfect composition of UI and the background and tell a story with it.

Design variations on the parcel UI. We initially wanted to have a physical parcel interaction, where you could collect them from the mailtruck as a player interaction. It turned out to have some UX obstacles though. Therefore we decided on introducing a little menu that the player can move through to find the correct parcel.

Save game UI

Loadscreen. The background changes every time to keep the player entertained.

Settingsscreen. This version is made for console (XBOX) and allows the player to navigate through the main tabs using LB and RB.
