A study of one of my favorite masters of painting: Sargent.
I tried to stay true to his approach of working from big shapes to small details, in a overall consistent manner. A Sargent painting looks realistic from afar, but when you get close to the painting you notice how loose his paint strokes actually are. Up close it becomes quite abstract, but the way these brush strokes are placed are a beautiful composition to look at.
