De Hersenstichting is committed to ensuring a healthy brain for everyone. They do not focus on just one condition, but invest widely in pioneering solutions that help prevent, slow down or cure brain disorders. Now and in the future.
The foundation wanted to create a positive movement during COVID-19 without losing focus on their goals for 2024 and 2030.

Better Together Agency and SimSalaBim invited me to join the Hersenstichting project in an early phase of the project, just after the basic idea was conceptualized and tested. We used the results of the first test to brainstorm and come up with several new, more gamified concepts of Ommetje to pitch to De Hersenstichting.
Once we had a Go on the concept, which is now Ommetje, it was up to me, with help from Marrit Cnossen (Better Together Agency) to convert the concept into a solid app design. With Marrit I’ve created several iterations of the user flow, using flow charts. I’ve designed the visual style of Ommetje and using that style I’ve created the UI and delivered the assets. Once this phase was done, and the whole design of the app was ready, we worked together with Canvas Heroes to create the first prototype.

De Hersenstichting needed a solution that would adapt to the language of their audience. Understand the connection between them, set the tone and generate buzz before, during and after. The visual style I’ve created for Ommetje appeals to their very broad target audience. The UX we designed is very approachable and easy to understand. And the strategy of the Ommetje app brought De Hersenstichting and their audience together with impact and vibrancy.

Within a week after the official launch we entered the top 10 in the Dutch Apple App Store and Google Play Store and realized a homerun with being the number one health app! The Ommetje app currently has an active user-base of 100.000 people and got broadly covered in the Dutch Media.
