Style design for Ludoku

Vuurig was asked to create a new style for Ludoku, a puzzle game.

The original Ludoku style was aimed at a hardcore audience, lots
of darks and orange. Ludoku designer Kjell ’t Hoen needed a restyle
for Ludoku to approach a more casual audience. Therefore we focused
on a style that was ‘now’ and recognizable: flat design. We only made
it ‘not that flat’, to up the playfulness.

The idea behind the theme is to build a totem pole. Every level you’re
trying to pull a totem pole part into a hole, where it will fall down
on your totem pole tower.

We tried different color schemes for different levels, to give an idea
of progress. A next step would be to create more context in every
chosen color scheme variation (like space or a pond).
